I come from a broken family I have a lot of siblings and step siblings. My sister, Natasha was driving to work this morning and some idiot in a tractor trailer ran a red light and hit and killed her and her husband instantly. Natasha and Ed had two small children, Lauren who is four and Brody who is two. I am single mom of two children myself ages 5 and 1 month. Natasha gave the children to me if she was to die, Any suggestions to make the kids more at home? I currently live with a friend since I was recently separated from my husband. Next week, I am moving into a large house. I just need some help on what to say to help these kids. How to handle this, what to do to my kids, etc.

Wow, I’m very sorry for your loss, and the CHILDREN’S loss. That has got to be the hardest thing in the world to go through. I think just take everything a day at a time, expect a lot of acting out in the beginning, and have lots of patience with them. Make sure they are in serious therapy, and be a little lax for the first year or so. I’m not saying to let them run all over you, but just allow their grief to run it’s full course before clamping down on them. Best of luck to you!!! Your a angle on earth!
